Family Holidays:
As well as having Phoenix Paintball for the thrill-seekers, the Mountain Rivers Park site is a great base for family holidays. You could spend at least a week here!Mountain Rivers Lodge offers self-cater motel-style accommodation. There are six units, each with en suite facilities and sleeping 3~4 people. Each unit is well insulated and has a queen size bed, refrigerator and electric heater. Linen is provided, but BYO towels. The units are linked via verandas to a communal lounge/dining/kitchen area which is ideal for groups of friends or extended family gatherings. This living area has a cosy wood heater, TV with tape/DVD/CD player and pictures on the wall featuring historic scenes of the region.
The Mountain Rivers Park property is noted for its spectacular driveway lined with magnificent flowering trees and plants. The Lodge is surrounded by farm paddocks where horses and goats graze, and looks out over a valley consisting of natural bushland and wildlife habitat featuring mountain ash forest, a beautiful fern gully, and a perennial natural spring feeding a dam and Happy Jack’s Creek. The paintball fields are situated on the lower paddocks and forested gully and ridgeline beyond.
Things to do on site:
Several bush tracks suitable for walking (no trail bikes on site please) meander through this lovely native wonderland. In particular, to the east of the paintball fields, near the dam and creek is our Fern Gully Walk. It explores the ‘Enchanted Forest’ where there are some surprises to be found, and it is essential that adults be accompanied by kids!On a quiet night, the boundary track running north from the paintball shed is ideal for spotlighting owls, possums and gliders. Sometimes wombats, deer or wallabies may be seen too.
For rainy days there is a cupboard in the lounge room which contains some board games to play. Remember the pre-computer era?
